Non so se la statua rappresenti Napoleone o l'ammiraglio Nelson che perse la vita nella battaglia di Trafalgar,una delle battaglie più celebri per l'Inghilterra tra le guerre napoleoniche. L'esercito reale riportò una vittoria in Spagna contro l'ammiraglia franco-spagnola anche se come detto Nelson perse la vita.
La particolarità di questa foto ,scattata nella piazza che rappresenta la battaglia e cioè Trafalgar Square, è il falco ,da qualcuno abbandonato, appollaiato sul lampione vicino alla statua...quasi osservasse la battaglia dall'alto!
Ci ho fatto caso solo quando mi sono messo a rivedere le foto scattate in questa vacanza...li per li non l'avevo notato!

Da vero patito di calcio e da calciatore non poteva mancare la foto di uno stadio...precisamente lo stadio dell' Arsenal, l' Emirates Stadium che ha sostituito il vecchio Highbury famoso stadio della squadra dell'omonimo quartiere. C'è chi dice che il calcio sia nato in Inghilterra...fatto sta che solo a Londra ci sono tantissime squadre del campionato inglese (premier league): arsenal,fulham,chelsea,westham,ecc...

Si possono ascoltare nelle metropolitane o anche in "superficie" tipo questi Hightown Crows che suonavano in Portobello's Road...ovviamente il sabato,giorno di mercato e giorno in cui questa immensa strada si popola di clienti e turisti.

Agli inizi del 2008 un incendio ha colpito il mercatino di Camden Town,precisamente nella zona vicino al Camden Lock...parecchi commercianti,non avendo l'assicurazione contro gli incendi hanno dovuto chiudere la loro attività. Si teme che verranno "installati" negozi delle catene Mc Donald o Star Bucks...tutto questo a scapito di quello che rappresenta questo quartiere
